Progressing to Wellcome Leap Q4Bio

We have progressed into Phase 3 of the Wellcome Leap Q4Bio project, as one of six final performers! The Quantum Pangenomics collaboration has been allocated a further $1M in funding to pursue the execution of the algorithms road-tested in simulation during Phase 2 on current quantum hardware.

The HPC team will continue the key role of enabling the project technical requirements and administering the on-premises HPC environment, and the systems for execution on quantum environments provided by our hardware partners Quantinuum and IBM.

The RSe team will continue to support the development of bespoke software tooling to efficiently and robustly implement the algorithms with a view for execution on quantum hardware. They will be involved in scientific studies to adapt the innovations of the prior two phases to quantum hardware.
