Research computing support at the Sanger includes a team of research software engineers and specialists (RSE and RTP, respectively) with a broad range of specialisms.
Services offered include, and are not limited to:
- Refactoring scripts into production-level libraries and modules.
- Adapting applications for HPC use.
- Consultation on research software development.
- Research and development in algorithm design.
- Profiling and optimising software tools.
- Producing tailored data visualisations and analytics tooling.
Our RSE experience ranges from scientific technical expertise in bionformatics and quantum computing, to framework-specific experience such as AI-ML specialists, and general full-stack software development in a variety of fields.

We have produced standardised workflows for multi-node multi-GPU batch jobs to accelerate AI in cancer and cellular genetics research.
